It is not entirely clear when the first leather wallet in today's design was produced. But one thing is certain: even though there are models made from numerous other materials, leather wallets are still the most popular. We already pay attention to quality when purchasing our raw materials. That's why we only use full-grain cowhide, which we source from our regular supplier in Tuscany. It goes without saying that a leather wallet must also have very sturdy stitching. We have opted for a thread that is made from old PET bottles. It is waterproof, tear-resistant and a great example of sustainability. It's nice to be able to support the recycling loop in such a simple way. Why don't more companies do this with their products?
In general, climate and environmental protection are very important to us. That's why we source our raw materials for products such as the leather wallet from European suppliers who follow a similar philosophy to us in this respect.
When you buy our leather wallet, you are purchasing a real classic. However, we have interpreted it in our own way, because the leather wallet should be made of natural and durable materials that make your leather wallet a long-lasting product.
At the back you will find a long compartment for banknotes, which we have lined with firm organic cotton. There is room for numerous cards in the wings that can be opened on the left and right. We have deliberately dispensed with the usual viewing window on a leather wallet. We are happy to save the foil used there, especially as experience has shown that it can become brittle through frequent use.
We see ourselves as a European company that manufactures in Solingen, traditionally known as the city of knives. Here we process the raw materials, which come to us from various European countries, by hand.
A particular focus is on leather. This is our most important raw material, which is normally tanned using a very environmentally harmful process (chrome tanning). We, on the other hand, prefer to use an environmentally friendly, purely vegetable tanning process that has been known for centuries. The lengthy process results in a robust and very soft leather that is particularly kind to the skin. This means that you need have little fear of allergic skin reactions to the leather wallet.
Once the leather wallet has been produced, we subject it to another thorough quality check. Only when we are one hundred percent satisfied with the quality do we send the goods for dispatch. This ensures that the leather wallet arrives in perfect condition.
Basically, leather is a durable and very easy-care material. Through use, it develops a patina that protects the material quite well from soiling. Surface dirt on the leather wallet can therefore be easily wiped off with a damp cloth.
By occasionally applying leather grease, you ensure that the material remains permanently elastic and hard-wearing. To do this, take everything out of the wallet and then apply a thin layer of leather grease to the outside of the leather. Work the grease in a little and give it a few hours to soak in. Afterwards, all you need is a dry microfiber cloth to remove any excess grease. The care is complete and the leather wallet is ready for use again.
