Behind every product is Clemens —product designer, founder, dad. And someone who keeps tinkering until everything is just right.

 

We make products that are truly exceptional. Our leather comes from Tuscany; it is vegetable-tanned and crafted by a family that has been practicing this craft for generations. We source Alcantara from responsible manufacturers. It is especially important to us that our products are carefully handcrafted. About 80% of our products are made in German workshops—by people who truly understand their craft from the ground up.

 

Let’s be honest: For some products, including iPhone cases, AirPods cases, and MagSafe wallets, we work with carefully selected partners in Asia. Especially for new iPhone models, they can quickly ensure a perfect fit, develop the necessary tools, and make production adjustments to the highest standards. Another key advantage is that we receive the final device dimensions very early on. This allows us to develop new cases more quickly and offer them right on time for the market launch.

 

That's not the romantic way to do it, but it is the honest way. Because the same standards apply to every product: our design, our materials, and our commitment to quality.

We make things that are truly good. Not because it sounds good, but because we wouldn’t want to work any other way.
Our leather comes from Tuscany—vegetable-tanned—from a family that has been practicing this craft for generations. We source Alcantara from responsible manufacturers. And the majority of our products are made in German workshops—by people who have learned their craft from the ground up.

 

Let’s be honest: About 80% of our products are made in Germany.
For some products—such as iPhone covers, AirPods cases, and MagSafe wallets—we work with carefully selected partners in Asia. The reason is simple: Especially for new iPhone models, it’s often possible to achieve a perfect fit, develop the necessary tools, and make production adjustments at the highest level much more quickly there than would currently be possible in Germany.

The Name

GOOD OPA

The most striking thing about our products is often there even before you hold them in your hands: the name GOOD WILHELM.
And that’s exactly why we’re often asked: Why this name? Where does it come from? What’s the story behind it?

Wilhelm was my grandfather’s name: Hans Friedrich Wilhelm. He was a tinker, a thinker, a man with an extraordinary knack for craftsmanship. No matter what was broken, no matter how tricky a problem seemed—he always found a solution. In his workshop basement, there seemed to be everything you needed to fix things instead of throwing them away.

To me, this place was a little piece of paradise. But even more than the space itself, what has stayed with me is the spirit that defined it: care, curiosity, skill, and the commitment to doing something really well. GOOD WILHELM This is a tribute to him.

And the name fits not only because of “Wilhelm,” but also because of “good”: because it stands for exactly what we believe in—good materials, good craftsmanship, good design, and products created with genuine dedication.
